What We Believe
rooted in god’s Word
At Faith Lutheran Church in Lacey, WA, our beliefs are firmly anchored in the Holy Scriptures—the inspired and inerrant Word of God. We teach that the Bible is the final authority for faith, doctrine, and life.
Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Christ Alone
We joyfully proclaim the central truth of the Reformation. These convictions shape our worship, preaching, and ministries.
Grace Alone – We are saved by God’s grace, not our works.
Faith Alone – Faith is the means by which we receive God’s promises.
Christ Alone – Jesus Christ is the only Savior of the world.
the lutheran confessions
As a congregation of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), we confess the Book of Concord (1580) as a faithful summary of Scripture. This includes the:
Augsburg Confession
Small and Large Catechisms
Formula of Concord
Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds
The Sacraments
Holy Baptism – Through water and the Word, God gives forgiveness, life, and salvation.
Holy Communion – In the Lord’s Supper, Christ gives His true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins and the strengthening of faith. Download Communion Guide.
The Work of the Church
We believe the Church exists to:
Proclaim the Gospel
Administer the Sacraments
Make disciples who follow Jesus and become like Him
At Faith Lutheran, doctrine is not abstract—it’s lived daily in worship, service, and mission.
